2 Curse of the Crimson Throne

This topic area is primarily intended as a place to record session summaries for the Curse of the Crimson Throne campaign that I am running. This implies that a spoiler alert needs to be announced here, as these summaries are intended for myself and my players as recaps of what occurred and transpired during their sessions.

Curse of the Crimson Throne – Session #8

Moonday, Erastus 1, 4708

Our party of adventurers departs the undercity of Korvosa and makes their way to the Citadel to return their findings to Cressida and Eries Yelloweyes, the latter of whom, makes arrangements to get the party some potions of water breathing.

Later that day, the party realizes that Harsk is grievously injured from the encounter with Girrigz, and decides to seek him assistance the next morning.

Toilday, Erastus 2, 4708

The party makes their way to the Temple of Abadar to cure Harsk’s newly acquired condition, only to determine that the temple’s highest ranking cleric, and the only one able to assist, is not available. Ishani suggests……

Curse of the Crimson Throne – Session #7

Sunday, Sarenith 30, 4708

The party makes their way to the Citadel to meet with Cressida Kroft, in the hopes that her clerics have determined what the strange chest was.  Unfortunately, nothing more was gleaned, but Cressida does have a few things she wants the party to look at:

Ishani (the cleric of Abadar the party is friendly with), wants the party to investigate the claims of a woman named Vendra who is selling a cure for blood veil.
A wererat named Eries Yelloweyes, worried that Korvosa might soon blame her kind for the plague, seeks out the PCs for help.
With the plague taking its toll on the citizens of Korvosa, the has……

Curse of the Crimson Throne – Session #6

Wealday, Sarenith 26, 4708

With the party reassembled at the Three Rings Tavern, the party wakes up, much as the have these past few weeks, with very little planned for the day, only to find a letter ‘stapled’ to the wall with a dagger that reads as follows:

To my friends Harsk, Odessa, Sagann, Tindes & Yoola,

By the time you receive this letter, my ship will have already set sail from the Korvosan Harbor.

After a much waiting, contacts of mine at Eel’s End have brought to my attention that they have located some relatives of mine that I never even knew I had.

Curse of the Crimson Throne – Session #5-to-6 Downtime

Wealday, Sarenith 4, 4708 – Toilday, Sarenith 25, 4708

Sagann is pretty pissed at what happened at the attempted execution of Trinia. Royally pissed. Not quite enraged but he’s always on that edge, which is generally beneficial unless that rage happens to be directed at someone in the party… Odessa made a decision on behalf of the party to attempt to intervene in the execution, forcing them to do something Sagann considered stupid, regardless of the reasons why, and irrespective of whether or not it all worked out ok in the end, the big guy is royally annoyed. And he does kill things for a living…

Harsk thought it would……

Curse of the Crimson Throne – Session #5

Toilday, Sarenith 3, 4708

This session picked up where the last left off, with the party still exploring the Dead Warrens in search of Thousand Bones’ grandsons body.

After exploring the rest of the complex, and encountering numerous creatures, the party ultimately found themselves face to face with a necromancer of significant ability.
With minimal resources at their disposal and an unfortunate blinding of Yoola, their half-orc archer, the party, through much toil, finally took down the necromancer, found the remains of Thousand Bones’ grandson and brought them back to Field Marshal Cressida Kroft.

Cressida indicates she’ll take care of the diplomatic relations with Thousand Bones, and hope that she can……

Curse of the Crimson Throne – Session #4

Sunday, Sarenith 1, 4708

Upon completing their previous task, and meeting up with the rest of their party at Citadel Volshyenek, the party meets with Field Marshal Cressida Kroft who brings the party up to speed on the day’s happenings: The queen has named the king’s killer and fears that this individual, whether guilty or not, will not get a fair trial. She wants Trinia, an artist commissioned last year to paint the King’s portrait, brought in. Cressida can’t send her guards in, as she fears it’ll trigger a riot. She can’t ask the Hellknights, as they couldn’t care less, being more interested in containing the mob. She……

Curse of the Crimson Throne – Session #3

Sunday Sarenith 1, 4708

After waking up from a night’s rest, Tindes and Yoola wake up and make their way to the front of the Three Rings Tavern to get some food. After waiting a short while for their companions to get up, they go looking for their companion. Nal is incredibly ill and unwilling to get up and out for the day. For their part, Harsk and Sagann left overnight, leaving only a note that they had an errand to run and would hopefully be back tomorrow, or the day after at the worst case.

Tindes and Yoola make their way back up to the front, have a bite……

Curse of the Crimson Throne – Session #2-to-3 Downtime

As our party of adventurers finishes off their assignment to obtain information crucial to defending Korvosa’s trade routes, they return to the Three Rings Tavern to rest up from their recent adventures and ponder what more Field Marshall Cressida Kroft might ask them to do.

A day passes, then a second, stretching to a week.  With the setting of each day’s sun, the party reconvenes at the Three Rings Tavern to enjoy a meal together.  There, they begin to hear various tidbits and tidings of the goings on within the City of Korvosa from the various visitors to the Tavern, which has become their home and base of operations.

Whether it be locals,……

Curse of the Crimson Throne – Session #2

Fireday 9, Desnus 4708

With the passing of noon, our party of heroes depart Castle Korvosa en route to the front gate of Citadel Volshyenek, they are quickly escorted to Field Marshal Cressida Kroft; a woman of some importance within the Korvosan Guard, who immediately ensures that this party of heroes is well taken care of.  She offers them food and lodging at the Citadel, or if they’d prefer she’s made arrangements with Theandra Darklight, the owner of the Three Rings Tavern, for them to stay at the Inn.

Cressida is quick to point out that the Citadel is somewhat short-staffed, something the party noticed when they arrived a short time ago…….

Curse of the Crimson Throne Session #1

Wealday, 7 Desnus 4708

Each of our five future-heroes begins the morning finding a strange playing card amongst their possessions:

Yoola’s is tucked neatly in her holy text
Harsk’s is hidden within his beloved teapot
Tindes’ is stowed within her Alchemy Crafting Kit
Sagann’s is stowed away in his pack
Nal finds his in his cooking pot.

The card directs each of them to visit a small well maintained cottage at sunset. Upon arriving, all of our would-be heroes, learn that they all have some link to each other, if only through the deeds of another – Gaedran Lamm – a strange little man who takes advantage of others in every way imaginable.

Soon after their……
